Wedding Food and Beverages

Golden Treasures offers many options to set up the food and beverages for your wedding, be it with gourmet dishes or a more basic approach to food. This being a very important aspect of any wedding, we work with specific chefs according to your needs.

Here we present some ideas of how a wedding menu should be prepared, and also include a beverages guide so you can select a drinks plan with actual photos of liquor, arranged in groups. You can combine the selections to get exactly what you want for your guests.

Wedding food and beverages are two main wedding cateringingredients to a very successful Dominican wedding. We can arrange the set up to have a buffet-type catering service for your wedding, or a full service with dinner and waiters as needed to serve the food. A large variety of snacks with basic ingredients will be available for a limited budget Dominican wedding, also a mid-range and full range menu with specialties from the local and international cuisine. Many celebrations include a local buffet when the guests want to try the best of the Dominican cuisine, which is a mix or African and European dishes passed down from generations since Columbus came to the island in 1492.

A local Dominican wedding buffet can consist of  various types of salads, rice, bread, pork, steak, chicken and influences by some Arab food ( specially fried appetizers ) , Spanish paella, Italian pastas, seafood snacks and lots of tropical fruits that are usually cut and decorated into beautiful shapes. The wedding menu will have to vary with the time of the reception, and that will affect the budget and type of food.

MORNING TIME: A brunch reception would take place at 10 or 11 a.m. It is quite inexpensive because fruit, bread, muffins, mimosas and other breakfast foods would be served. For this you would have to wake up and get ready early and it will usually happen when you have a plane to catch and you really want to have the wedding with your family and best friends in a given place or location.

LATE MORNING: A luncheon reception follows a late morning Dominican wedding. This can be a variety of finger sandwiches and other hors d`oeuvres such as canapés, green salad, pasta salad and fruit arrangements. You can have trays of cold cuts together and garnish it nicely and it would be great. Other local Dominican foods can be added, also salmon cut into bite sizes with spread, Russian salad ( widely used in the DR ) and other local treats.

EARLY AFTERNOON: The dessert reception is the less expensive wedding reception food. It's great if you do have a lot of guests and a low budget. wedding menu treatsThe menu is simple, Just serve your favorite desserts. This type of reception would be held from 2 to 5 p.m.

MID AFTERNOON: The cocktail party reception is less expensive than dinner and is held from 4 to 7 p.m. Serve just hors d’oeuvres. We offer hors d’oeuvres trays pretty inexpensively also. Request them with a lovely garnish and have them served really pretty.finger sandwiches for the wedding catering

EVENING TIME: Then there's the dinner reception, the most expensive. Have it served  buffet style and make a nice presentation. You can order barbecue as the entrée, then follow with a selection of options such as steak, chicken, pasta, seafood, canapés, bread, fruits, dessert and tea or coffee.

The final menu will always be a personal choice depending on the guests ( will there be many vegetarians or children), type of wedding and budget. There are many ways to make it look and taste great without spending too much unless you really want to have the finest foods. If your wedding is an informal one you might as well order a barbecue, simple appetizers and perhaps a main course if you can make it that far. Our chefs understand that everyone ( big and small budget couples ) who get married in the Dominican Republic all have the same right to a beautiful wedding service, their dedication will always be professional and complete.

                                          dominican wedding drinks
The wedding bar will always be a key spot for the guests, you have the option to make it an open bar where everyone will help themselves with the drinks, though it would mean a more informal wedding party. A bartender would do a better job and add a special touch by mixing drinks and helping the guests. Most wedding parties will have the basics: rum, beer, whiskey, wine, bottled water, coke, cider or champagne, and the ever present cocktail or mimosas. Other choices are tequila, cognac, vodka, Baileys, Tia Marina and Kahlua. We present here a selection of drinks by group and price, from which you can combine to work out a perfectly balanced wedding bar. Once you plan your wedding with us we will make sure you know which drinks combination will be served to your guests, to avoid unwanted surprises. Virtually any brand of liquor can be ordered for your party, we just pictured here the basics for a quick reference.

fine wedding drinks

There are party drinks and there is champagne. We believe that no matter how low your budget is, we should always save enough for a good bottle of quality champagne like Moet & Chandon, to celebrate this most joyful day when hearts unite and walk together to a new bright future. We suggest you have a bottle of Moet or Dom just for the wedding toast in those cases when your budget calls for other champagne brands for the party. Veuve Cliquot, Mumm`s, and Bollinger are other great choices, and into the special request drinks categories we have also added Patron Platinum and Ballantine`s Whisky. This is just a sample of the full list available to provide you with a clear idea at the moment of planning and organizing the bar for your Dominican wedding with Golden Treasures.
